WHAT'S ON 2024-2025

Monthly Meetings are held at Loders Village Hall on the second Tuesday of each month from 7.30pm

 

16 April: Garden Visit to Forde Abbey, Chard

Meet at 12.00pm at the Abbey.  Walk round the gardens - its tulip time, and have lunch or afternoon tea in the Coffee Shop.  Tickets are £14.50 per person.

5 May: Treasures from the Attic - A Table Top event at Loders Village Hall 

£5 for a table with free entrance to sellers and buyers.  Cream teas available at £5 per person.

Sellers from 1.00pm, Buyers from 2.00pm.  Contact Loders WI by email or website, for a Table..

14 May: Crutchley Estate - Farming Update

Voting slips are available from The Crown Inn, The Loders Arms and the Telephone Boxes

Uploders Chapel will be providing coffee and cake over the bank holiday weekend 10.00am-4.00pm and on Wednesday 1.00pm-2.30pm.  Entries £2.00.  Return forms to the Crown Inn and Loders Arms or through the door of Church Farm House, Loders.

10 September: Smuggling and the Dorset Connection
Trevor Ware, Maritime Art Historian, talks about the golden age of smuggling between 1750 and 1830. 

8 October: An Illustrated Romp through 300 years of Jewellery Design 

as explained by Laura Smith.  Laura is a Jewellery Specialist for Noonans auction house in Mayfair,  She has been in the business for 20 years and previously worked for Bonhams.

12 November:  Finding More Family -

A return visit from John Stockley, the son of an Black American GI


10 December: Christmas Festivities

14 January: Yoga - Audience Participation

with Karen Lings, Yoga Instructor.  Karen holds a yoga session at Loders Village Hall every Thursday evening 6.00-7.00pm.


11 February: Trade and Rope

Chris Stevens of Bridport Museum talks about the history of ropemaking in Bridport

11 March: Petticoats and Pockets
with Juliet Braidwood on Clothing from 1800 to 1920.  Juliet is a costume designer and historian and historical seamstress of mainly Tudor and Jacobean clothing.
