LODERS OPEN FLOWER, PRODUCE & CRAFT SHOW Saturday 16th August 2025 2.30pm to 4pm Venue: Loders Village Hall Entry fee (for all classes): 50p per exhibit. Children under 12 (for Classes 64 to 68) free. Visitor show entry £1 Exhibits to be set up between 8.30am and 10.30am on the morning of the show and collected after 4.15pm. Hall closes at 5.15pm. Refreshments and raffle tickets available from 2.30pm Prize giving at 4pm SHOW CLASSES VEGETABLES: Crutchley Cup 1. 3 Potatoes – white 2. 3 Potatoes – coloured 3. 5 Shallots 4. 3 Onions – large over 250g 5. 3 Onions – medium under 250g 6. 2 Courgettes – not more than 20cm in length 7. 3 Tomatoes – excluding cherries 8. Quiche: any size, home-made pastry 53. Victoria Sandwich – 3 eggs 54. Carrot Cake: Ingredients: For cake: 150g raw grated carrot, 150g whole wheat flour, 1 large egg, 45g of honey (6 tablespoons), 45g butter (melted), cinnamon, 1tsp baking soda, 2 tsp baking powder, zest & juice of 1 lemon. Ingredients for topping 100g butter (soft), 100g icing sugar, 200g cream cheese, vanilla extract (2 drops). Method: Line a loaf tin (approx. 20x13x9cm) with baking paper. Combine dry cake ingredients, then add the egg, honey, butter and lemon. Spoon mixture into tin and bake for approx. 40-45 minutes at 180C /160C fan. Leave to cool in tin. Topping: sift sugar and beat to combine with other ingredients. Spread over cooled cake. HANDICRAFT 55. A piece of embroidery 56. Cross-stitch or tapestry 57. A hand made card 58. A magical wand RULES 1.All classes open to anyone unless otherwise stated. 2.Exhibitors may enter up a maximum of two entries per class. 3.All exhibits in classes 1 to 36, 38-39 must be home grown by exhibitors. 4.Pot plants must have been in the possession of the exhibitor for at least three months. 5.No exhibits should have been entered into a previous Loders show 6.The committee do not accept responsibility for any loss or damage to any exhibit 7.The judges decision is final. Prize money 1st 50p & 2nd 30p. Cards will be awarded for first, second and third places 8.The LODERS ENTERTAINMENT TROPHY is given for the most points gained by any competitor. Classes marked with * are included in the markings for the FRANCIS SANCTUARY CUP. A new cup: the PIPPA DAVIS MEMORIAL CUP is given for the highest points in the Handicraft, Flowers, Flower Arranging, Produce and Baking classes.
